Ongoing schemes

             The ongoing schemes of the KWA include LIC aided rural and urban, with bilateral assistance from Netherlands, HUDCO assisted schemes, 100% Centrally Sponsored ARWS schemes, AUWS schemes with 50% Central aid and Technology Mission(Sub Mission) Projects with 75% Central assistance for some schemes and 50 %  assistance for the remaining projects under TM schemes. Works on 261 schemes are  currently in progress in the State.  

Proposed schemes

                 In addition to these, the KWA has prepared a master plan during 1989 with the objective of providing sustainable piped water supply to the entire population in the state by the year 2001AD. Instead of going in for small independent schemes, the master plan contemplated comprehensive schemes with dependable perennial sources and facilities for proper treatment catering to large areas.  In all 275 schemes at suitable places ranging in all the 14 Districts in the state were thus identified. The schemes would be taken up for implementation after availing financial aid from various agencies. As on date, the Authority has a ready shelf of 62 projects which are yet to be approved by any financing agency.  Investigations of the remaining projects are in progress.
