Water Production

WATER REQUIREMENT OF THE STATE

Presently there is a huge demand-supply gap and as such we are not able to provide safe drinking water in the required quantity for all the customers. Bridging this demand-supply gap would require a scientific assessment of the requirements, identification of schemes and estimation of the capital investment required. The present(2000 AD) demand of the state is tentatively worked out as follows,

                                                                Total demand                =  2605.18

WATER PRODUCTION

  • The present production of water through piped water supply schemes in the State is approximately 1008 million liters per day.

  • However, there is wastage due to leakage losses, which limits the present effective supply to approximately 800 mld against the demand of approximately 2600 mld per day.
