Water Production
WATER REQUIREMENT OF THE STATE
Presently there is a huge demand-supply gap and as such we are not able to provide safe drinking water in the required quantity for all the customers. Bridging this demand-supply gap would require a scientific assessment of the requirements, identification of schemes and estimation of the capital investment required. The present(2000 AD) demand of the state is tentatively worked out as follows,
For 76.80 lakhs urban population @120 l/capita/day = 921.60 MLD
For 214.18 lakhs rural population @ 70 l/capita/day = 1499.26 "
Non-domestic/ industrial demand = 184.32 "
Total demand = 2605.18
