WATER SUPPLY NORMS
The manual on Water Supply and Treatment brought out by the Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), recommends the following per capita supply level for domestic and routine non-domestic needs.

The guidelines for implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Rural Water Supply Programme published by the RGNDWM in 1984, specify 40 lpcd as the minimum required for human consumption. The break up is as follows:
